On the Estate
Imagine a private nature preserve where you have exclusive
access. Guests of the Domain have access to 5,000 acres of unspoiled forests, hills, and
lakes—yours
for as long as you stay.
Each season offers its own unique character.
Spring
Renewal, growth and the sight of a doe and its fawn. Stroll by the
lake or canoe along its reflective waters. Play an invigorating game of
tennis or go for a bicycle jaunt. The bass are plentiful on our Ritchie
Lake. For advice on fly-fishing—or just storytelling—we can
arrange a guided excursion with outdoors writer and humorist Steve Galea.
No matter how you spend your day, you will come back to the warm
ambiance of our main lodge, where a sumptuous candlelit dinner awaits.
Summer
Blue skies, starlit nights. The legendary “call of the loon” is
a reality in our otherwise quiet bay. Swim in the morning from our sandy
beach and sail the afternoon away. Canoes and kayaks are at your disposal—and
so is some of the most beautiful scenery that the province has to offer.
Autumn
Warm days with just a hint of chill in the crisp night air. Walk
through a forest of maple and birch ablaze with colours. Smell the earthy
fragrances of this glorious season. The scenery around us resembles
a painting—something
you will always remember.
Winter
A time of dazzling beauty at the Domain. Autoroute magazine called
our cross-country skiing “the best we have found in Ontario.” Break
from the trails and pause by the woodstove in a remote cabin to
enjoy a picnic lunch prepared especially for you.
Experience the silent rush of dog sledding through a tree-lined trail
or past a frozen lake. When you hang up your snowshoes, enjoy mulled cider
or a steaming mug of our now famous hot chocolate.
Whatever the season, the memories will linger and you will come back,
another day, another season, to be greeted like an old friend.
