In 1981 Count Edouard de Moustier and his French family purchased a 5,000 acre tract of forest covered land in the Haliburton Highlands.  Shortly thereafter an additional adjacent property was also acquired having on it  a hunting and fishing camp.

After a series of carefully designed renovations, the Domain of Killien has come to be what it is, a unique oasis of rustic magnificence.
